El Copal

Mazunte

Hard-to-find Copal hugs a forested hill behind Playa Mermejita with steps leading up to an arty restaurant, along with a pool that appears as infinite as the sea beyond. It’s a leafy secluded spot with solar-powered cabañas of adobe, wood and palm-thatch, all containing a double bed on the ground floor and two or three singles above.

Recently added are some pretty basic tepees. The bathrooms are quaint open-air affairs with views.
