Posada del Arquitecto

Mazunte

Arquitecto looks slightly grungy from beach level, but venture inside its rooms and the quality shines through. Its quirk is its camas colgantes (hanging beds) also known as estrellas. Some of them are set on the hillside en plein air, sheltered only by palapas; others are suspended from the ceiling on ropes inside cabins and encased in white mosquito nets.

You can rock yourself to sleep to the sound of crashing waves (Playa Rinconcito is inches away). There are cheaper dorm rooms on offer too.
