For high mountain pastures, peak climbing and glacier views, the Langtang Valley trek is hard to beat. High in the mountains further south are the dozen or so holy mountain lakes of the Gosainkund region, which offers the region's best mountain panoramas as well as fine lakeshore views. From the lakes you can continue over a pass down the Helambu ridge all the way to Kathmandu. Nagarjun Hill View point Hike Tour

Nagarjun is the nearest hill site of Kathmandu Valley covered by thick forest with historical as well as natural setting. Situated north-west of Kathmandu it’s a part of Shivapuri National Park. You can start your hike from the Gate of Nagarjuna near Balaju Bypass. It's a 20-minute drive to the entry gate and then 2. hours of walking up to the hill. Nagarjuna hill hosts one of the well-known Buddhist stupa. A road passes through Raniban (Queen of Forest) to this stupa.The etymology for its name as Nagarjun is based in a mythological statement that it’s the location where Acharya Nagarjun has meditated. Nagarjun also described as Vindya Mountain. Here one can feel a peaceful state of mind with natural setting; it’s the best place to meditate. Buddha stupas, ancient caves and finally Jamacho view point (2128m) are the main points of attraction. Jamacho view point is famous for its setting from where spectacular Himalayan scenery can be captured in mind as well as camera. Day Hiking to Nagarjun Hill from Kathmandu

This short hike starts from the gate of Nagarjun after a 20-minute drive from Thamel. Nagarjun is nearest hill site of Kathmandu Valley covered by thick forest with a natural and historical setting. Langtang valley, known as "The valley of glaciers", is one of the popular closest trekking regions from Kathmandu. Langtang valley trekking is a narrow valley which lies between the main Himalayan range to the north, bordering Tibet and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. A visit to the Langtang region offers an opportunity to explore typical villages, bag small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle.
