Welcome to Mali-Yemberem
The little village of Mali-Yemberem sits on the edge of the spectacular Massif du Tamgué, just before its precipitous drop towards Senegal and the plains far below. Not only is the scenery superb, but at over 1400m, this is the highest, and coolest – sometimes even cold – town in the Fouta. Mali-Yemberem is also famous for Mt Loura (1515m), known as La Dame de Mali, a mountainside resembling a woman's profile.
The incredible landscapes ensure that hiking here is top class – with a guide and time, there are near endless hiking possibilities.
