Welcome to East of the Prom
Heading eastwards into Gippsland from Wilsons Prom takes you past green dairy farms en route to a string of sleepy coastal hamlets and charming historic towns. Port Albert sees the most tourist traffic with its beach, fresh fish and seafaring atmosphere. Yarram (one hour's drive from Wilsons Prom) is one of Gippsland's most picturesque towns, distinguished by grand colonial-era architecture. There's also some scenic bushland, swimming holes and waterfalls, including Agnes Falls, a 15-minute drive from Toora.
For cyclists the Great Southern Rail Trail has recently been extended east of Foster to conclude at Port Welshpool.
