Seaside Seabird Sanctuary

Tampa Bay

The largest wild-bird hospital in North America, this sanctuary has more than 100 sea and land birds for public viewing, including a resident population of permanently injured pelicans, owls, gulls and falcons, and an elderly red-tailed hawk named Isis. A couple thousand birds are treated and released back to the wild annually. Unsurprisingly, the place smells a little fishy.
