For many Ukrainian pilgrims, Kremenets is simply the jumping-off point for Pochayiv monastery, but with its historical buildings and eerie hilltop Cossack cemetery it does hold interest for the foreign traveller. However, as there are few decent hotels or places to eat, the town is best tackled as a day trip from Lutsk 96km to the north or Ternopil 70km to the south.
