Basseterre Food and Walking Tour

We walk for approximately 15 minutes to our first stop, passing the heart of Basseterre and historical sites along the way. We also have time for some sea glass hunting for our sea glass fans. We pass the local fishermen cleaning their daily catch to sell to restaurants and residents.Our restaurant stops are sit down establishments serving local Kittitan fare. We visit locally owned establishments serving traditional foods. Some of our stops include a beautiful oasis in the heart of Basseterre with immaculate gardens as well a local art gallery for some homemade treats.We walk and stop to take plenty of pictures of our natural scenery, the city of Basseterre, the start of our mountain range, the Southern Peninsula and of course our sister country Nevis.We end the day back in Port Zante with an ice cold beer or locally made fruit drink, and plenty of time for some last minute shopping before your all aboard time.Restroom facilities are available at all stops.

Queen City Nevis Island 2.5-Hour Guided History Tour

After a late-morning pickup from your accommodations, your visit will include the Thermal Spring, famous for its medicinal treatments. During this 10-minute visit you will experience the warmth and magnitude of the springs. Then, continue on to the Montpelier Estate which houses the Botanical Gardens ($13 entrance fee not included). On this estate Fanny Nisbet and Horation Nelson got married. The inn also accommodated British royals such as Prince William (the Sailor King), the best man at Lord Nelson's wedding, as well as Princess Diana and her son, Prince William.Continue on to Hermitage Plantation, the oldest structure in the Caribbean. See the Carriage and Great Houses, furniture, artifacts, dining wares and the restored chattel houses. Another historical site is the Golden Rock Hotel, opened in 1950, and built on the site of an old windmill which presently accommodates a honeymoon suite and cottages. As the tour continues, drive through the Nisbit Plantation, a beautiful five star hotel. Then, it's on to Charlestown, the capital of Nevis, with a stop at either the Admiral Horatio Nelson or Alexander Hamilton Museum (entrance fee $5.00). Whilst in Charlestown you can take the opportunity to purchase gift items and have some local cuisine before returning to your hotel.

Meet your guide at the departure point at your requested time. Your journey begins after you are given a bicycle and a helmet. Off you go down the old sugar plantation trails. Along the way, you will stop at various villages such as: Newcastle, Camps, and Fountain. There will be plenty of stops to rest and take photos of the beautiful scenery. You will also make a stop at Nisbet Plantation where you can explore the area where Admiral Horato Nelson courted the lovely Fanny Nisbet, whom he later made his wife.
