Welcome to Talalla
Strongly contesting the award for Sri Lanka's most beautiful beach, Talalla is an utterly sublime curve of sand that's been only very lightly touched by tourism. Indeed as you walk the idyllic kilometre-long shoreline, virtually the only artificial features you'll encounter are small fishing boats. Nature feels very close here at the idyllic western end of the beach, where patches of tropical forest are home to swinging monkeys and snoozing iguanas.
The eastern side of Talalla is less attractive as the highway runs much closer to the shore.
