Grand Café

Leeuwarden

Aptly named, this contemporary eatery is grand in every sense. Its building, a red-brick post office from 1903, is glorious inside and out. Dining covers everything from an 'anti-hangover' breakfast fry-up to afternoon tea with Fryske sûkerbôle (Frisian sugar loaf), gourmet jenever (gin) pairings and seafood platters to share. Watch for cocktail soirées with live music and lazy Sunday tunes.

The cafe also has its own coffee roastery and serves excellent, cold-brew mocktails and speciality coffees. Ample plugs for laptops, too.
