Tanswell's Commercial Hotel

Victorian High Country

A gold-rush-era pub dating to 1856, the imposing Tanswell's Hotel is very much a fixture along Beechworth's picturesque main street. Its front bar is done out elegantly with gleaming polished wood, black-and-white checkered tiles and a roaring fire, resembling an English pub more than an Aussie country hotel. There's also a restaurant, live music, a billiards room and accommodation.

Local legend has it that Ned Kelly used to drink here regularly.
