İzmir

A Parisian-style divertissement in the heart of the city, this stylish cafe on Lozan Meydanı is wildly popular with Alsancak's ladies-who-lunch. Coffee is excellent and the croissants and gateaux are simply sensational. At lunch, tartines (filled baguettes) and croque monsieurs (baked ham, cheese and béchamel sandwiches) are the popular choices. The refreshing limonata (lemonade) is just maybe Izmir's best.
