Virunga Lodge

Top choice in Rwanda

One of the most stunningly situated places in the region, the Virunga Lodge, nestled on a ridge above Burera and Ruhondo lakes, offers incredible views across to the Virunga volcanoes, and is one of the finest lodges in Rwanda. Accommodation is in stone chalets decorated with local crafts and hardwood furnishings, though this place is definitely more 'bush chic' than opulent.

Rooms 5 to 8 are in high demand for they have fantastic views over both the towering volcanoes and Lake Ruhondo. Activities include nature walks and village visits. The lodge is a 30-minute drive from Musanze.
