Welcome to Playa Palo Seco & Around
Playa Palo Seco (aka Isla Palo Seco) is a quiet, unhurried black-sand beach that's off the beaten track and located near mangrove swamps with good opportunities for birdwatching. Just south of the Río Parrita, a 6km dirt road connects the eastern edge of Parrita to the beach. Another popular excursion is to visit Isla Damas, which is actually the tip of a mangrove peninsula that becomes an island at high tide. Most people arrive here on package tours from Jacó or Quepos, though you can hire a boat to take you to and from the island.
