    Stoeng Trorcheak Restaurant

The shady gardens at this sprawling restaurant set by the Roluos River are a good place to cool off during the heat of the day. The extensive menu includes Cambodian classics, Chinese favourites, Thai tasters and some international appearances. Many of the tables are set underneath pretty thatched pavilions, but some indoor air-con dining is available.

    Natural Vegetable Food Place

Set amid extensive farmland on the road between Siem Reap and Roluos, this restaurant specialises in organic vegetables grown in its very own gardens. Fish and meat dishes are also available, but all come with a variety of freshly grown vegetables such as okra, long bean and cucumber with a pungent prahoc ktis dip (fermented fish and herbs).

  • Restaurants in Temples of Angkor

    Ktom Sre

Ktom Sre is a simple Cambodian restaurant on the northwestern corner of Sra Srang, the former royal bathing pond. Food is eaten in bamboo picnic huts and the signature coconut roast chicken is served in a banana leaf, the traditional way Khmer food was served before the advent of polystyrene and plastic.

  • Restaurants in Temples of Angkor

    Khmer Village Restaurant

This is one of the largest restaurants on the Sra Srang strip and does a roaring trade at lunchtime thanks to a spacious dining area with moisture-cooled fans and an air-conditioned room. The menu is huge and includes Cambodian, Chinese, Thai and international dishes.

  • Restaurants in Angkor Wat

    Chez Sophea

Chez Sophea offers barbecued meats and fish, accompanied by a cracking homemade salad, but prices are high compared with the neighbours. It is an atmospheric option for dinner, as all the other eateries are closed in this area, so it feels very exclusive.

  • Restaurants in Angkor Wat

A handy branch of Blue Pumpkin just outside Angkor Wat turns out sandwiches, salads and ice creams, as well as divine fruit shakes, all to take away if required. It gets very busy with tour groups at lunchtime.
