Welcome to Codrington
Barbuda's only town, lagoon-front Codrington is home to most of the island's residents and a minuscule airstrip. It's a fairly ho-hum place, all the more so since Hurricane Maria tore through it in 2017, destroying many of its older houses and leaving many of its structures – including its church – roofless. Aid agencies are hard at work helping locals rebuild, though many houses have been abandoned and very few businesses are working. Despite this, Codrington has a friendly atmosphere and welcomes visitors with a wave.
