Fransie Pienaar Museum

Western Cape

Named for a local resident who started the collection, the museum is a magnificent hotchpotch of everything from old matchboxes, ornate 19th-century bibles and a room full of sewing machines to San artefacts, then-and-now photos of the town and an interesting exhibition on the construction of the Swartberg Pass.
