3-Day Speyside Whisky Tour from Edinburgh

Day 1: You head north to the historic village of Dunkeld for a short walk through the forest to some dramatic waterfalls. After lunch in Pitlochry, you can sample the delights of Scotland's highest distillery at Dalwhinnie, near the source of the River Spey. Once you’ve warmed with a little dram of whisky, you continue through the Cairngorms National Park before reaching Grantown on Spey, your base for two nights. Day 2: A whole day exploring Scotland’s most famous whisky region. After a scenic drive towards the coast, your first stop of the day is at the family owned Benromach Distillery, where you can go on a personalised tour. From here it’s a short distance to Elgin. Here you can visit Gordon and Macphail, one of the world’s leading specialist whisky bottlers and suppliers. You travel back up the Spey to Craigellachie for a visit to the Speyside Cooperage, where you see another aspect of the whisky making process (Wednesday departures only). After lunch here or in nearby Aberlour, you visit Glenfiddich Distillery. From here you travel back to Grantown on Spey. Day 3: You travel through the beautiful Cairngorm Mountains on route back to Edinburgh. In the morning you visit Glenlivet, which is both a distillery and a beautiful glen with serene walks and wonderful wildlife. You then enjoy the majesty of Royal Deeside. You pass by Balmoral Castle, and stop in the village of Braemar in the heart of the National Park. From here the route south passes over Scotland’s highest mountain pass, through Perthshire, and back to Edinburgh. **Itinerary and distillery visits are subject to change.

Full-Day Loch Ness Tour from Aberdeen

Traveling in a small group tour from Aberdeen, we travel North from Aberdeen city, following the main road A96. Hear about the areas history, and see the fine landscapes on route. Our tour starts from Aberdeen Visitor Information Centre.The first stop of the day is Johnstone’s Cashmere, Elgin. Following on, we travel to Loch Ness our main tour stop of the day. There is plenty of time for a tour of the Loch on a Jacobite boat cruise or a visit to Urquhart Castle with some Lunch. There is an entry fee required if you wish to see the Castle or go on the Loch Cruise.After lunch and visit of Loch Ness we travel via Inverness, past Culloden battlefield to the Clava cairns these are a type of Bronze Age circular chambered tomb cairns. Then we head back over the mountain roads to Aberdeen, Inverurie & Huntly Visitor Information Centre.Our Loch Ness Day tour takes around 11 hours in duration.

Speyside Whisky and Moray Firth Coast Day Tour from Inverness

The tour starts in the Inverness City Center at 9.15am where you will head to our first distillery of the day, in the comfort of a luxury, 16 seat mini-coach. Arriving at approximately 10:30am, the Benromach Distillery tour (approx. price £6) will teach you about the ancient process used to make whisky and offer you a chance to take an early morning dram.The next stop is Elgin, where you arrive at approximately 12:30pm and can have lunch, explore the ruins of Elgin Cathedral (approx. price £7.50), and look for whisky gifts at a world famous whisky shop.After lunch, at approximately 2pm, you will head to Glenfiddich Distillery (approx. price £10). You have the option to either do a distillery tour or view the nearby Balvenie Castle (approx. price £5). Your Speyside distillery day tour from Inverness will first visit Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin, which has been producing malt whisky since 1897. Enjoy a tasting of their recently launched Elgin Heritage range, comprising of a 12, 15 and 18 year old single malt.
