Burger Mel

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Keeping Santa Cruz vegans happy since 1985, though parked rather incongruously along Calle la Marina, this neat and long, white restaurant serves scrummy vegan burgers with fries and vegan mayo. Round things off with a delightful arroz con leche (rice pudding; €2.50) or gofio con leche (ground, roasted grain with milk; €2.50) from the chiller.

If passing by you can grab a hummus sandwich or a vegan sobrasada sandwich from the fridge. There are two more central branches in town, and one in La Laguna too.
