Hy's Steakhouse

Top choice in Waikiki

Hy's is so old-school that you expect to find inkwells on the tables. This traditional steakhouse has a timeless old leather and wood interior. But ultimately, it's not whether you expect to see Frank and Dean at a back table; rather, it's the steak at Hy's that is superb.

From a glassed-in booth off the dining room, their meat master cooks up an array of succulent cuts of beef. There are plenty of sides and salads you can order – and they're all fine – but really save room (and save some money) for the steaks. The garlic one is highly recommended as is the literally over-the-top, infinitely tender and massive Wagyu Tomahawk cut, the cut favored by cavemen with champagne tastes.
