Guisados

Top choice in Downtown Los Angeles & Boyle Heights

Guisados' citywide fame is founded on its tacos de guisados: warm, thick, nixtamal tortillas made to order and topped with sultry, smoky, slow-cooked stews. Do yourself a favor and order the sampler plate ($7.25), a democratic mix of six mini tacos. The chiles torreados (blistered, charred chili) taco is a must for serious spice-lovers.

The gourmet coffee isn't bad either. Check website for other locations around town including DTLA and West Hollywood.
