Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

Top choice in Rwanda

If you want to splurge on your visit to the gorillas, then this is without a doubt the place to do it. Intimate and immaculate accommodation is in Venetian plaster cottages with Rwandese-style terracotta-tile roofs, spacious sitting areas, stylish en suite bathrooms and phenomenal volcano views. One quibble, though: access to the 10 units is a bit tricky (read: steep stairs).

The Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is a joint partnership between the Sabyinyo Community Lodge Association (SACOLA) and the exclusive Governors’ Camp. SACOLA gets US$96 per bed per night in addition to a percentage of all profits. To date, these revenues have been used to implement several community projects.
