Barefoot Lodge

Lilongwe

Set in 6.5 hectares of lush gardens, Barefoot makes for a quieter alternative to the city centre. There are six nicely finished chalets with private verandas, and five walk-in tents, plus loads of space for pitching your own tent. The ablutions block is spotless, and there's a bar-restaurant (the 'Night Jar') and even a workshop and mechanic for your wheels.

The lodge is 10km west of Lilongwe, on the road to Mchinji (the western continuation of Mzimba St).
