Welcome to Northern Gallura Coast
The northern Gallura coast is home to some of Sardinia's most gorgeous seascapes. From the port town of Palau, ferries and small tour boats cross over to the Arcipelago di La Maddalena, a world of dreamy turquoise waters studded with islands and ringed by secluded beaches. Continuing north and west of Palau, the wind-whipped coast rises and falls like a rocky sculpture, culminating in the lunar-like headland of Capo Testa. Fine beaches stretch out towards Vignola in the west and sunny Santa Teresa di Gallura, the fashionable heart of the north coast's summer scene, in the east. The windy waters are a magnet for windsurfers and kitesurfers; competitions are often held here, some of which dash across the windy straits to Bonifacio in Corsica.
