Welcome to Burtonport & Kincasslagh
The village has attracted some famous characters over the years. Much to local consternation, in the 1970s the Atlantis commune moved here from London, and practised a primal therapy that earned members the nickname 'the Screamers'. Eventually it relocated to the Colombian jungle (via Innisfree), where two members were appallingly beheaded by Farc rebels. Burtonport seems perfectly ordinary today.
North of Burtonport is the charming seaside village of Kincasslagh, with a population of around 40 people. The village is also on the map as the birthplace of famous singer Daniel O'Donnell.
