Ice Cave, Waterfalls on South Coast 2-Day Tour from Reykjavik

Day 1:Begin your 2-day tour in the early morning with a convenient Reykjavik pickup by minibus. Head east out of Reykjavík on the famed ring road towards the south coast. First stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you have the chance to walk all the way around the waterfall and see it from every angle. Along the drive towards Skaftafell make further stops at Skógafoss waterfall and Vik, with its famous black-sand beach and basalt columns. From there head to your accommodation for the night. As well as a relaxed evening you also have the chance to hunt for the northern lights. During the winter months, out in the countryside with no light pollution, there's a good chance of spotting these colorful and fast-moving lights. Please note: Accommodation will be arranged at Hótel Skaftafell from January 15th to March 15th 2017. From December 1st - January 15 accommodation will be at Hof 1 Hotel. The hotels detailed above are as a reference only and are subject to change based on availability and other conditions beyond our control. An alternative hotel with similar standards, quality, and comfort may be offered as a substitute. Day 2: The first stop on your second day is the famed Jökulsarlon Glacier Lagoon with its floating ice bergs. From there head to highlight of the tour, the ice cave where your certified guide is already waiting for you with all necessary glacier equipment. A short walk brings you to the entrance of the ice cave. The cave's stunning formation offers great photo opportunities. On the way back, make a final stop at Skaftafell National Park. You will arrive back in Reykjavik between 9pm and 11pm.

Visit Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls.Day 3: Snæfellsnes Peninsula - We travel to the charming fishing town of Stykkishólmur for a cruise in the Breiðafjörður fjord. Jutting out into the bay rises one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland, Mt. Kirkjufell.Day 4: Travel along the Hvalfjörður fjord. The first stop is at an Icelandic wool outlet store. We continue inland to Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal fields and Gullfoss waterfall.Day 5: Travel along the South coast. At the Eyjafjallajökull Information Center, we learn about living next to a glacier and an active volcano. Next visit is Skógafoss waterfall which is 60 meters high and one of the most impressive waterfalls in the country. In the afternoon we take a stroll on the black lava beach at Reynisfjara in South Iceland.Day 6: Today we travel to Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs. In the afternoon we visit the tiny turf church at Hof and spend time at Europe’s largest national park, which has Iceland’s highest mountains, and Europe's largest glacier.Day 7: From Kirkjubæjarklaustur we head across the Eldhraun lava field to the village of Vík. We visit the high but narrow Seljalandsfoss and in the afternoon we return to Reykjavik and have about 2 hour leisure time. In the evening, we soak in the famous Blue Lagoon. After an Icelandic farewell dinner, we go on one last nocturnal tour to seek more Northern Lights.Day 8: Departure home

The tour includes a boat trip on Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, a monster truck expedition on Langjökull glacier and a visit deep inside one of the world's largest man-made ice caverns. Day 1: The Flybus shuttle takes you to Reykjavík where you spend the first night.Day 2: 9am meet your tour guide and head to the Reykjanes Peninsula. First stop, the famous Blue Lagoon. Later, continue to Grænavatn and explore Krýsuvík. Then travel south and around 5 pm take a ferry ride to the Westman Islands and spend the night.Day 3: Explore the town of Heimaey and its extraordinary island. The afternoon is free to wander around the town before you travel with the ferry to the mainland and a long bus journey takes you to Skaftafell.Day 4: Start with a visit to Jökulsárlón lagoon and enjoy an amphibian boat ride. Later, visit the turf church at Hof. Spend time at Europe’s second largest national park and Europe's largest glacier. Hike up to the waterfall Svartifoss. Overnight in Skaftafell.Day 5: First stop, Fjaðrárglúfur Canyon before heading to the town Vík and the world-famous Reynisfjara shore. Travel along the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier and volcano and visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall. End the day at the new Lava Centre. Next two nights in Hveragerði.Day 6: First explore Gullfoss, the beautiful double "Golden Falls". Afterward, head into the Icelandic Highlands. The Kerlingarfjöll rhyolite mountain massif is colorful and rich. Spend 2 hours hiking the area. In the evening visit the geothermal area of Geysir, where Strokkur, "the churn", spouts up to 25 meters every 5-10 min. Overnight in Hveragerði.Day 7: Travel to Þingvellir National Park before heading to Kaldidalur, a gravel mountain road that takes us to Húsafell in West Iceland for a once-in-a-lifetime tour to visit the man-made ice tunnel and caves on one of Europe's largest glaciers, Langjökull. Included: 8-wheel drive monster truck expedition on the glacier. Later, visit the magnificent Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. The final stop is at Deildartungahver before reaching Reykjavík in the evening where you will spend the final night.Pre and post nights in Reykjavik Included in this tour program, ask if you require extension nights.
