This 900m-long island, northeast of Stockholm, combines lush woods and meadows with sheltered coves, rocky cliffs and visiting eagle owls. It’s a popular summertime spot, but there are enough quiet corners to indulge your inner hermit.
There's a sauna (100kr per person per hour) near the beach that can be booked through the hostel. You can rent kayaks, canoes and SUPs at a kiosk at Paradisviken, in the middle of the island (per day rowboats 300kr, kayaks 500kr, SUPs 950kr). Walking trails cover most of the island, taking in awesome panoramic views at various points.
