Jungle Park

Northern Madagascar

Built around a natural pool in the middle of a forest, the sustainable, brightly painted eco-domes are very comfortable, with their own bathroom. The wooden treehouses are more rustic and share a somewhat-smelly toilet. There's an open-air dining area and it's all solar-powered. It's a children's paradise but adults will enjoy the activities (and the massage), too.

The turn-off is 9km from Diego Suarez (Antsiranana) on the road to Ramena, and then it's a further 6km on a very rough track. A huge range of activities and excursions are on offer from kitesurfing to birdwatching, a fun activity park, cycling and archery.
