The West Coast

Cashew-crumbed chicken and duck-leg confit feature on a Europe-tinged menu at Kumara's landmark hotel. There's also a quarter-pound of whitebait (in season), if you're feeling more ravenous than refined. Meanwhile the hotel's faithfully restored decor, complete with piano, old photographs and period furnishings, will keep you gazing at your surroundings long after your last sticky spoonful of date pudding.

Lunches are served until 3pm and dinners from 5pm until closing (with bar snacks offered in between). In summer, meals might be served later (the pub itself closes late).
