This outstanding restaurant serves up delectable plates of regional fare showcasing whatever is fresh and seasonal. The menu is limited and mostly meat-centric (think tender beef cheeks, wild partridge, hare with white beans, and rich roast pork), but plates are beautifully turned out, and the wines (over 40 from this part of the Alentejo) are outstanding.
The affable owner will provide suggestions, let you taste the wines and guide you through the menu (though his English is limited). The small shop in front sells wines, olive oils and other fine Alentejan produce; you can also stop by in between mealtimes for snacks (sandwiches, small sharing plates) and proper espresso.
