Wanamaker Organ

Chinatown & Center City East

Back in 1909 when Macy's was Wanamaker's, owner John Wanamaker installed this enormous pipe organ hosting free concerts to delight shoppers and make them linger. The tradition lives on, with classical and pop tunes filling the department store's central atrium a couple of times a day.

It's a treat for visitors who are welcome to tour the console area (2nd floor) and meet the organist following the daily concerts.
