Haji Biryani

Dhaka

An Old Dhaka institution, Haji only does one dish – mutton biryani – but does it exceedingly well. This place is tiny, so you’ll almost certainly have to share a table: squeeze in, sit down and just wait for your biryani to arrive.

Do as the locals do and drip some lime juice over it before you tuck in, then chomp on a fresh chilly in between mouthfuls. No English sign, but it’s next to a mosque, and its green metal shutters are noticeable.
