Lochmara Lodge

Marlborough Region

Set in lush surroundings, this arty eco-retreat can either be reached via the Queen Charlotte Track or from Picton aboard the lodge's water taxi ($30 one way). There are en-suite doubles, units and chalets, an excellent cafe and restaurant, plus a bathhouse for spa and massage services. Recent additions are Lochmara's wildlife conservation activities and an interesting underwater observatory.
