There you can visit the tallest in Lithuania Anyksciai St. Matthew the Apostle church; the complex of Narrow Gauge Railway with its historical and cultural heritage; the Ethnographic Horse Museum; absolutelly new and exclusive the Treetop Walking Path; full of the legend Puntukas stone and other objects which impressed you as well! The Treetops walking path, located in the famous Anykščiai Pinewood is the only treetop path in Eastern Europe. Vilnius: Anyksciai, Hill of Crosses, Rope Course, Private Tour

The first part of your day trip is reserved for a place of silence and peace, for serenity and love, for respect and pity - the Hill of Crosses. A pilgrimage site about 12km north of Šiauliai in Northern Lithuania, It is believed to have been placed on the former Jurgaičiai – Domantai hill fortress, and is covered with more than 200,000 crosses, crucifixes, effigies, statues of saints and patriots. Later on your journey continues on the drive to Anyksciai area. The trip will take you to visit a unique technical, architectural and cultural monument a Narrow Gauge Railway station. The Narrow Gauge Railway began construction in Lithuania in the latter part of the 19th century is an important part of engineering history. Afterwards you will visit an ethnographic horse museum with traditional farmstead and crafts - here you will learn more about the local cultures and Lithuanian farming traditions, before moving on to visit the tallest Lithuanian Church with its beautiful panorama. You will also visit the "devil" stone, exclusive the Treetops Walking Path. After spending some time exploring Lithuanian countryside, you will return back to Vilnius.

5 Day Highlights of Lithuania Weekend Break

Day 1. Hello, my name is Vilnius.This is a day to get accustomed, relax and self explore. We will give you some tips for walking around Vilnius and best dining options depending on your wishes. Day 2. Meet the two Capitals of Lithuania.In the morning you will visit Trakai the Medieval capital of Lithuania where you will see the castle on the island and have authentic karaite lunch (OPTIONAL). Upon return to Vilnius you will be guided through the narrow streets of UNESCO protected Old town and self proclaimed Uzupis Republic where you will hear the stories of past and present and get a good insight about Lithuania’s history and culture. For the evening to add some flavours to your Lithuanian experience we highly recommend you to try some food and drinks (OPTIONAL) – choose between traditional Lithuanian dinner or local beer tasting or even both! Day 3. Escape to the past.When nearing Kaunas we make a stop in  Rumsiskes village that has all authentic countryside region houses built in one place. The rest of the day in Kaunas will tell you how it felt to live in independent Lithuania between World Wars, and how this vibrant city lives today. You could also try to catch a wind in the almost historical soviet times amusement park (OPTIONAL). Day 4. Traditions of Crosses and a walk in the sky.Start the day by hiking up the Hill of Crosses – a must visit site in Lithuania – and be fascinated by the sight of 100.000 crosses built and brought to this magic place by pilgrims of all religions and faiths. 2 Full Days Aukstaitija National Park Experience

DAY 1. Out of the city.In the morning you will be picked from Vilnius and will drive to Asveja regional park where you will visit Dubingiai town that lies on Asveja shore, the longest lake in Lithuania. You will see Dubingiai castle that is now just the ruins, but used to be one of the most important and luxurious residence in whole Grand Duchy of Lithuania and belonged to the Radvilos the most influential noble family in Lithuania.Later you will go to Labanoras forest, which is one of the biggest forests in Lithuania. You will hike on the forest trail, climb up the viewtower and have a picnic. In the late afternoon you will arrive to the local homestead where a hot sauna will be waiting for you, which is the best after long day hike.A warm homemade dinner will be waiting for you once you are done with sauna. And this is not the end of the day. When it gets dark we will go to Moletai astronomy observatory for the night stargazing (subject to weather conditions). During the tour you will have chance to watch the night sky through one of the biggest telescopes in Northern Europe.After the night program you will go back to the homestead for well deserved rest.Overnight at the local homestead in the countryside.At the homesteads the bathroom may be shared among few rooms.DAY 2.Have a relaxed no hurry breakfast at your homestead. After breakfast we will leave for another day of exploration in Aukstaitijos national park. This day we will discover Paluse village - which holds the official title of the capital of Aukstaitija National Park. Then we will climb Ladakalnis hill (we Lithuanians call it mountain) to admire panorama of 6 surrounding lakes. The hill itself has a mythological significance and it is thought to be a sacred place of the Baltic goddess Lada, the mother of the world.Later we will stop at Ginuciai hillfort and water mill used for grinding the grain. It is the only mill that preserved the authentic 19th century equipment and you can learn about the old days bread making process and its long journey to our tables.We will also visit the only beekeeping museum in Lithuania where we will see the examples of ancient beehives and learn about beekeeping tradition and rites in Lithuania, learn about different kinds of honey.In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Anyksciai which is famous of its newly built walking path that goes over the tree tops. You will have chance to experience it yourself and walk all along this path ending with the 34 meters high viewtower to admire the beautiful panorama of Lithuanian forests and lakes for one more time.After Anyksciai we will continue driving to Vilnius which is 1,5 hours away. Drop off to your hotel in Vilnius.
