Lonely Planet hits the road this summer!

Lonely Planet's UK road trip

The idea for Lonely Planet was born out of a round-the-world road trip back in 1972, so to celebrate the launch of our new books Epic Drives of the World and National Parks of Europe we’re going back to our routes (pun intended) and hitting the road!

This summer Lonely Planet will be touring the UK in an all-electric Tesla Model S. Follow our journey from 19-28 August as we pitch up at six spectacular national parks across Scotland, England and Wales. At each location there will be the chance to snag one of 25 goody bags, enter our road trip competition to win some amazing prizes courtesy of Go Ape, and join one of our exclusive events. You'll also be able to enjoy the sensation of travelling the world on the spot with our virtual reality headsets and browse a selection of our books which will be available for purchase at a 30% discount. So come along and say hello!

Keep tabs on our trip or share your experiences of meeting us on the road on social media with #EpicDrives.
