National Civil War Naval Museum

South Georgia

This museum, dedicated to the naval history of the nation's bloodiest conflict, includes the CSS Jackson, an 1862 ironclad Confederate navy ship that was hauled up after 95 years underwater, plus a replica of the turret of the ironclad USS Monitor. You'll also find a collection of mid-19th-century American and Confederate flags, unearthed from an attic in Massachusetts.
