The arrow-shaped Mythen mountains (1898m and 1811m) are the emblem of Schwyz and tower high above the town. They're not the only pointy thing that Schwyz is known for though, for this unassuming little place is also the birthplace of that pocket-sized, multifunctional lifesaver – the Swiss army knife. You can head to the Victorinox factory and check it out for yourself. As if that wasn’t enough, Schwyz is also home to the most important document in Swiss history, the 1291 charter of federation.
