Named after the patron saint of fishers (St Peter), this peaceful former farming village is an antidote to the tourist resorts to the west, but there's limited history to explore. The huddle of houses has expanded beyond the central square and church to accommodate a small populace that seems to be on permanent vacation.
In the centre of town you'll find the Platja de la Colònia de Sant Pere. Nearby is the small marina and fishing port. About 2.5km west, you'll reach Platja de Sa Canova, a fine and tranquil sweep of sand that reaches all the way to Son Serra de Marina. From the village of S’Estanyol the only way to Sa Canova is on foot, but it's not a long walk as S’Estanyol is almost on the beach's edge.
