Erkel Theatre

Budapest

Budapest's modern (and usually considered ugly) second opera house, southwest of Keleti train station, has reopened after a massive facelift that has added a considerable amount of charm to this venue with near-perfect acoustics. The Erkel is standing in for most operatic and musical performances while the Hungarian State Opera House undergoes renovation due to be completed in 2020.

Tickets are sold just inside the main door.
