La Frescheria

Naples

Contemporary, attentive La Frescheria serves smashing seafood at its street-level crudo bar and softly lit, basement dining room. The day's catch – much of it from Pozzuoli's famous fish market – determines the simple, compact lunch menu. Dinner is more extensive (and expensive), with highlights including crudo mediterraneo (raw fish) and panko-crusted, paprika-dusted octopus served with house-made herb mayo.

Book ahead, especially later in the week. The lunch menu is announced on La Frescheria's Instagram account (search under the restaurant name).
