This beautifully restored traditional village compound 1km east of the bridge in Butuceni has 19 rooms done up in peasant style, but sporting modern baths and creature comforts like flat-screen TVs. Not much English, but you'll get a hearty welcome nonetheless. There's a fabulous restaurant (mains 50–100 lei) and indoor swimming pool.
Offers bikes for guests' use. The restaurant serves wine by the jug and offers impromptu evening cooking lessons in preparing mămăligă (cornmeal polenta) and other national staples.
