Ysconderijo

The Algarve

In a contemporary dining room with brick arches, timber tables and ivory-coloured chairs, Ysconderijo is popular with international visitors for elegantly presented dishes such as lamb cutlets with roast forest mushrooms, bacon-wrapped steak with sweet potato mash, and almond-crusted salmon. Reservations are recommended in summer, and you'll need to bring cash as you can't pay by card.

Kids eat for €5 a head; their choices include fish fingers, mini pizzas and pasta.
