Mediterra

Top choice in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh

Cure the curry blues at this romantic rooftop restaurant on Indore’s main avenue of upscale shopping and hotels north of the centre. Mood lighting sets the tone for a meal infused with Moroccan and Italian flavours, with dishes ranging from lamb tagine to classic homemade pastas.

Many of the excellent mezze and starters – the likes of paneer satay or coconut prawns – are big enough to be mains themselves. Cocktails (₹350 to ₹400) and French, Indian and Australian wines are the sidekicks to the meals.

It’s one of five excellent restaurants in the luxury Hotel Sayaji: others include Kebabsville (a poolside grill) and Sanchi, dedicated to the dum pukht (slow oven) cuisine of Uttar Pradesh's Awadh region. Reservations are a good idea.
