Woondaal

Top choice in Sylhet

If you’ve ever been to a Bangladeshi-run Indian restaurant on London’s Brick Lane – where many of the restaurants are in fact run by expats from Sylhet – then you’ll recognise all your curry favourites on the menu here (you'll sorely miss the beer, though). The service is slick, the decor is modern and the food is simply superb.

The (English) menu here is really more North Indian than Bangladeshi, so feel free to order yourself an assorted platter of kebabs served with pickled onions and mint chutney, followed by the signature mutton biryani or one of the many yummy curried or chargrilled chicken dishes, best polished off with naan. Very often, there's live sporting action on TV to go with your meal.
