If you’re dreaming of your next holiday, it’s time to stop waiting and start planning, as more travellers are scouring Pinterest for inspiration and Airbnb for a place to stay.
With a 37% increase in searches for travel destinations on Pinterest since last year, the two sites have teamed up to help travellers plan their next vacation. Airbnb looked at its data to find the top trending destinations that people are saving on Pinterest – and some of the homes that are available there.
Naturally, while many people are also looking to Pinterest to find somewhere beautiful to visit, most are also looking for somewhere affordable. The site says that searches for travel on a budget are up 500%. While the start of summer has many people dreaming of a beach vacation, it turns out that many people are not actually seeking out the sun so much as “cold-but-green” destinations like Iceland and Scotland.
