A luxury travel tour will put you at the centre of your very own wildlife documentary

If Planet Earth II has whetted your appetite for wildlife travel, a new set of luxury tours promises to put you at the centre of your very own documentary. Tour company Luxury Travel Advisors have a package that allows up to four people to travel with a five-man wildlife film crew, along with guides in each location.

The “Heart Of The Arctic” tour departs in May, and it will see travellers getting up close and personal with polar bears, walrus, seals, arctic foxes and other wildlife. There is a guided tour of Longyearbyen and a visit to the site of the Global Seed Vault in Svalbard, Norway. Add in kayaking, dog-sledding, snowmobiling and a whale and walrus cruise, and you have yourself an Arctic adventure.

The ‘Brazilian Explorer’ tour departs in August, and sees travellers having encounters with green anacondas, jaguars, toucans, giant anteaters and more in the Southern Pantanal. You can go scuba diving and snorkelling, and take a light rafting expedition around the Formoso River.

The “African Vet Safari” tour in May will see travellers experiencing big game up close, with behind-the-scenes access with conservationist Dr William Fowlds. There is a helicopter flight, a Table Mountain tour in either jeeps, Harley Davidsons or vintage cars, and a visit to the Born Free Foundation’s Big Cat Sanctuary. Another tour planned for September is called the “Canadian Bear Encounter.”

Obviously this kind of luxury adventure doesn’t come cheap, costing £140,000/$172,508 per group. Each tour lasts for eight to twelve days, and will include a private viewing for friends and family of the finished documentary after the trip has ended.
