Haitian band entertains a delayed flight with impromptu concert

Lakou Mizik, a band from Haiti, decided to entertain passengers on a delayed flight by playing an impromptu concert on board.

The flight in question had been delayed for over six hours at Chicago‘s O’Hare Airport, so band members decided to jump up from their seats and play some music, much to the delight of the rest of the passengers.

A video of the concert was uploaded to the Haitian band’s Facebook page and has since been shared over 4000 times. Speaking of the viral video the band said, “We are so happy that this little video has touched the heart of so many people. We just want to say that we felt only love from all the passengers and staff on the plane. It was a difficult moment for all of us and we were proud to have our Haitian culture lift the spirits of everyone.”

The band is a multi-generational collective of Haitian musicians formed in the aftermath of the devastating 2010 earthquake. Late last week there were also delays at JFK airport in New York, caused by tiny turtles invading the runway!
