Meet Kama the piglet who's a Hawaiian surfing pro

If you’re struggling to stay up on your board this summer, it might dishearten you to learn that a baby piglet in Hawaii is already probably better than you at surfing the waves.

Footage of thrill-seeking little porker Kama 2 has already racked up over 140,000 views on YouTube, as fans can’t get enough of watching the piglet shredding the gnar with owner Kai Holt and his son Braiden on Sandy Beach in O’ahu.

Of course, the young pig is only taking after his daddy, Kama – full name Kamapua’a – the original surfing pig whose antics on the water have been viewed by over 3.7 million people.

Kama 2 will be hoping to emulate the success of his father, a surfing pig professional who can balance on a board and ride out wipe-outs with ease, and has attracted sponsorship deals and freebies.

Kama, the dad, became a member of the Holt family when he wandered into their cabana at Bellows Beach. They took him home and discovered he could swim when he accidentally fell into their swimming pool in the back garden.

The family took Kama to Sandy Beach, and soon he was riding the waves and showing other surfers up with his prowess in the water. Kai and Kama became so close that they now go everywhere together and even sleep in the same bed. Kama also has an Instagram account, kamathesurfingpig, where he keeps more than 19k followers entertained with his adventures.

When little Kama 2 came along, he was a little hesitant around the water initially, but has now mastered the board like his dad. He might be only a little guy himself, but he has already become a proud father to daughter Kama 3, whom it is assumed will also become a surf pro when she’s a bit older. Let’s hope so anyway, as the family who surf together, stays together…
