If you're a fan of The Wizard of Oz film, you may feel there’s no place like home in this cottage in North Carolina offered on the Airbnb platform.
You won't be in Kansas any more, as Dorothy's Cottage is an adorable blue glamping cabin in West Jefferson, inspired by the musical fantasy film, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. It sleeps two people and as it doesn't have heat, it is only available to book in late spring, summer and early fall.
Its most striking feature is the yellow brick road mural painted on the side of the tiny home, depicting Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow. The striped legs with ruby slippers poking out from under the cabin are also a charming feature.
The cabin is located across the road from the hosts' inn, and guests are welcome to explore the extensive gardens and sitting areas there. They can also use wifi on its front porch. The cabin is close to the town and restaurant and a walking trail through the woods.
There is also an outdoor firepit if you choose to stay at home, and the cabin is equipped with board games, books and more. It has a private deck facing the surrounding woods and a stream, complete with a bench, two chairs and a small table. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water and a shared portable bathroom.
