Pandora Inn

Top choice in South Cornwall

At the bottom of a hill by Restronguet Creek, this thatched inn is one of Cornwall’s landmark pubs, in situ since the mid-1600s. It’s the picture of a smuggler’s pub: inside, blazing hearths, snug alcoves, beams and ships-in-cabinets; outside, whitewashed facade, thatched roof, cob walls and a boat-lined pontoon. The food is great, and there's nowhere prettier for a pint.

Hard to believe it almost burnt to the ground in 2011; thankfully, the ground floor remained largely intact, and it’s since been rebuilt in seamless shipshape fashion. It's owned by St Austell Brewery.
